Patterns, Textures, Shapes and Forms in the Sand

An unintentional visual theme developed itself during the day while I explored the dunes at South Padre Island, Texas. Some of the photos look as if they could have been taken from the space station, others produce close-up silhouettes of plants in their shadows. A couple of the photos show the sand being blown across the frame; you can almost feel the sting as the wind whips it into your skin.
